Topic: When using an RPC/HTTPS connection in Outlook, you will need to follow the instructions below to store your password so Outlook will not prompt you for credentials. You must be running Vista or Windows 7 (any edition except Windows Home).

Note: Saving the password for your Outlook profile requires several conditions:

  • MSSTD entry,
  • NTLM authentication,
  • Credential manager entries.

Recommended: These conditions may all be achieved by using Outlook Profile Helper (Outlook Setup Wizard) when creating a profile with the option Remember Password checked. You can download Outlook Profile Helper here:

  • Users: My Services > Downloads & Instructions;
  • Administrators: CONTROL PANEL > Get Started > Set Up Manually > 2. Download & Set Up Your Email Client > Run Outlook Setup Wizard.

Alernative: You may also enter the settings for NTML authentication and MSSTD server name manually and save the credentials automatically by checking Remember Password when first logging in to Outlook profile. Also, you may manually enter the settings and manually create Credential Manager entries to save the password.
